Firefighters tackled two deliberate fires at a York nature reserve last night (Sunday).
They were called to Clifton Backies offWater Lane at8.51pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Acomb crews were mobilised to a reports of a fire in the open.

After inspection crews confirmed this was two separate areas of fire both approx 5 sq metres.
“The cause is believed to be deliberate. Crews extinguished using knapsack sprayers and beaters.”
