A YORKSHIRE BANQUET
1970s: Yorkshire Cham. A nod to the most fashionable drink of the 1970s, the iconic, perry Babycham. Toast us with Erishskroy Westow’s English sparkling white wine.
Canapés
1950s: Potted Whitby Crab – a favourite in the decade that the Great Yorkshire Showground was purchased.
1980s: Shepherds Purse Mini Parcel – the decade this iconic Thirsk-based cheese company was first established by Judy Bell MBE.
2000s: Fodder Wagyu and Sheffield Forge Cheese Burger – the era of the gourmet burger arrives.
Starter
1960s: Fanny Craddock’s Prawn Cocktail – a retro staple that stands the test of time in British cuisine. Prawns, baby gem lettuce, Marie Rose sauce, YO Bakehouse brown bread and Longley Farm butter.
Main Course
1990s: Taste Tradition Yorkshire Beef & Herb-Fed Chicken – the traditional British roast became a sharing platter staple, a mix and match of meats with colourful, playful veg. It couldn’t be a food celebration without Yorkshire pudding and Fodder’s are benchmark.
Add to the platter beef fat potatoes, Denholme honey carrots, Fountains Gold cauliflower cheese, Longley Farm butter braised leeks, beef- dripping onions and ‘aaah’ gravy.
Dessert
1940s: Chef Richard’s Very Yorkshire Sticky Toffee Pudding. A dessert created post-World War Two, when indulgent, comforting desserts were popular.
Filey Bay Whisky, Farrah’s Harrogate Toffee, Ian Taylor free-range eggs, Longley Farm butter, Dales Dairies cream and Yorvale Ice Cream.
To round it off
Coffee Brothers Coffee and Yorkshire Treats.
PLUS: All guests will receive a foodie goodie bag, which includes a Fodder discount voucher and the event will feature in the pages of Yorkshire Life.
