Three strangers threatened a man with a knife, police have warned.
North Yorkshire Police is now appealing for information following the attempted robbery in Knaresborough.
The county's force said the incident happened in Wetherby Road around 10.30pm on Friday, August 7, close to The Lido.
Police said a man was approached by three unknown men and was threatened with a knife.
A force spokesperson said: "The victim challenged the suspects and sustained minor injuries in the process.
"He later attended hospital for minor injuries following the incident.
"The suspect fled the scene empty-handed."
North Yorkshire Police said it is appealing for information including CCTV recordings which may have captured the incident, or for any eyewitnesses to come forward.
