A MAIN road in a York suburb will be closed today (Monday, August 10) due to maintenance work.
City of York Council said Rawcliffe Lane, Clifton, will be shut between its junctions with Rawcliffe Drive and Brompton Road.
The road is close to the A19 junction which also provides access to Acomb and the A59.
The council said the closure will be in place from 9.30am to 1pm, or until the work is finished, in order to allow for safe completion of the work.
Traffic signs and barriers will be in place to show the extent of the closure.
A diversion will be in place for the duration of the works, taking drivers via Rawcliffe Drive, Water Lane, and Brompton Road.
Residents needing access are advised to speak with the traffic management operative on site, the council said.
