A YORK-BASED pet cremation company faces a bill of nearly £9,000 after it admitted breaching safety regulations for transporting dangerous goods.
Time Right Ltd, of Spitfire House, Aviation Court, Clifton Moor, was prosecuted over the transport of clinical waste and soda lime along the A30 London Road in Camberley, Surrey, on October 31 last year.
The company trades as Pet Cremation Services.
It pleaded guilty to breaching regulations for transporting dangerous goods and the use of transportable pressure equipment under the Health and Safety Act.
Guildford Magistrates Court heard that the driver of the Peugeot van containing the clinical waste and soda lime did not have a valid training certificate to transport the items which were classed as dangerous goods.
The company was fined £6,660 and ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs and a £2,000 statutory surcharge. In total it must pay £8,745 by the start of next month.
