Four defendants guilty of violent offences were among those sentenced recently at Scarborough Magistrates Court.
John Blanchard, 41, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman.
He was jailed for four weeks and ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs.
Lee Jefferson, 31, of Plough Court, Malton, pleaded guilty to harassing a man.
He was given a 12-month community order with 20 days’ rehabilitative activities and made subject to a 12-month restraining order banning him from contacting the man or going into his home street. He was ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs.
Levi Vincent, 23, of Holly Close, Wrelton, near Pickering, pleaded guilty to having a knife in public in Market Place, Pickering.
He was given a 12-month community order with an 80-day alcohol abstinence tag and 10 days’ rehabilitative activities. He must pay £85 prosecution costs and a £114 statutory surcharge.
Stuart Dove, 32, of Barrowcliff Road, Scarborough, pleaded guilty to nuisance electronic communication.
He was given a 12-month community order with 10 days’ rehabilitative activities and ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs.
Nathan Cranage, 25, of Aberdeen Walk, Scarborough, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer.
He was given a 12-month community order with six months’ alcohol treatment and 15 days’ rehabilitative activities and ordered to pay £250 compensation.
Ryan Vance, 21, of Westlands, Pickering, pleaded guilty to using threatening words or behaviour.
He was given a 12-month community order with 10 days’ rehabilitative activities and must wear an alcohol abstinence tag for 100 days. He must pay £650 prosecution costs and a £114 statutory surcharge.
Mitchell Johnson, 31, of Windmill Court, Clark Street, Scarborough, pleaded guilty to racially aggravated words or behaviour towards a police officer.
He was given a 17-week prison sentence suspended for 18 months on condition he does six months’ alcohol treatment and 25 days’ rehabilitative activities. He must pay £250 compensation to the officer.
