Our illegal immigration problem is no different to what happened in Ceuta: Yorkshire Post Letters

Do the liberal virtue signallers who long for open or no borders to allow the country to be inundated with illegal migrants not see that eventually the alleged hellholes these people have ‘escaped’ from are what our towns and cities will in time become, especially as the majority of these people only create their own country’s way of life on our shores and take from society rather than try to integrate and give something back?

What has happened in Ceuta has made more news because of the large number (around 60,000 in one go). Our problem is no different, with smaller numbers but more incursions.

The Spanish authorities say most people have been returned to Morocco but they and the people traffickers know that if they can do it once they can do it again.

They will also know that if they can do it in our waters, our weak, ineffective Government will not be returning them anytime in the foreseeable future.

It will probably make Mr Burnham wish he’d stayed as Manchester’s mayor.
