A Yorkshire village that is perfect for scenic walks with lots of history has been named one of the most beautiful places to visit in England.
The Times has released a list of the most beautiful places in England to visit spanning across cities and villages to coastal spots.
It is understandable how the village of Haworth made it onto the list thanks to its links to the Brontë sisters and cobbled streets.
If you love literature and quaint villages, Haworth might be worth a visit.
What is there to do in Haworth?
On the village, The Times said: "You may not think that you know this Yorkshire town, but you’ve probably seen its steep street, which climbs up the valley of the River Worth, on screen.
"Haworth is popular with location scouts for film and TV, and many of its lugubrious millstone grit houses have become whimsical shops selling everything from hemlock candles and vintage dresses to 'fat tyke' biscuits.
"The town has one foot in another era, especially when the steam locomotives from the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway chunter into its station.
"The Brontë sisters grew up in the parsonage at the top of the street — it is now a museum that details how claustrophobic and intense their upbringing must have been.
"Further uphill from the parsonage, the moors beckon anyone who wants to wuther a few heights.
"We’d recommend staying close to the Brontë parsonage in the thoughtfully renovated boutique guesthouse Weavers of Haworth."
The streets of Haworth are lined with independent shops and cafés where you can enjoy a coffee after searching for antiques.
If you love books, you can check out Spooks Bookshop, which is known for its gothic literature and classics.
The Brontë Parsonage is a must-visit and will help you learn more about the sisters’ lives through immersive exhibitions.
If you are up for a walk, the Brontë waterfall and bridge that was often visited by the sisters is a 45-minute walk away.
To explore more of the surrounding area, you can get a Day Rover ticket for the heritage steam train that runs along the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.
For food, you might want to stop at Cobbles and Clay for either some breakfast or a hearty sandwich for lunch.
The café also serves a range of hot and cold drinks alongside plenty of homemade cakes to choose from.
If you are looking for somewhere to treat yourself, you could try the Hawthorn restaurant that offers seasonal dishes created using local ingredients.
