If you are not a fan of loud and busy seaside towns, the Yorkshire coast is packed with beaches that are much quieter.
Sewerby Beach can be found along from Birdlington and is backed by a small village.
Sewerby features a "dramatic coastline" with chalk cliffs you can walk along to get to the beach.
As well as the beach, Sewerby has lots of family-friendly activities, alongside pubs and cafés.
What can I do in Sewerby?
Sewerby is a largely untouched beach and is great for an escape from daily life thanks to its peaceful vibe.
The beach is dog-friendly all year round, so it might be a good place to take dogs for a long walk.
The area is perfect for those who love wildlife, with it being home to many seabirds including gulls and cormorants as well as puffins during the breeding season.
Even during peak summer months, Sewerby Beach never gets too crowded and feels like a hidden gem.
You can easily spend a day relaxing on the beach with a book or just enjoying the sea views.
As well as exploring the beach, you might want to visit the Bondville Model Village where you can see 200 crafted buildings that create a tiny village.
See if you can spot the windmill and castle ruins and watch the miniature train go around the village, which only adds to its magic.
Another popular attraction is the Sewerby Hall and Gardens, which has 50 acres of parkland to explore.

The hall even features its own zoo with sheep, sika deer, guinea pigs, and micropigs to see.
If you are looking for somewhere to eat, you might try the Ship Inn, which is known for its wonderful sea views, or the Old Forge, which offers a range of classic dishes from fish to steak pies and burgers.
