A brand new jazz music festival is coming to York this autumn.
The city-wide festival will take place from Thursday 1 to Sunday 4 October across five iconic York venues, for ‘four days of live music, discovery and community.’
The five venues involved in York Jazz Fest are Angel on the Green and The Winning Post on Bishy Road, Young Thugs Studio, The Phoenix on George Street, and The Arts Barge moored in the Foss Basin.
The new York Jazz Fest aims to celebrate ‘the full spectrum of jazz’, from ‘timeless standards to forward-thinking sounds’.
The festival announcement has received a positive reaction on social media, with one person commenting ‘Looking forward to seeing the lineup! Great to see stuff like this happening’, and another saying that they ‘Can’t wait for this!’
