Watch: Biker caught on camera kicking wing mirror off police car in 'act of stupidity and selfishness'

A biker who kicked a wing mirror off a police car “in an act of stupidity and selfishness” was caught on camera.

While an officer was patrolling the streets of Barnely in a marked police car, a group of bikers passed the vehicle and a member of the group was captured on camera sticking out their leg and kicking the wing mirror off the police car on purpose.

South Yorkshire Police said: “A police car was out of action in Barnsley after a biker kicked the wing mirror off in an act of stupidity and selfishness.

“This is not ‘harmless fun’ - it is immature, selfish, and ultimately a pathetic act that has consequences and impacts on our communities.

“Following the incident, an immediate call was aired over the radio, and the officer was unable to attend due to the condition of their vehicle.

“Another officer responded to the call while the police car was taken to the garage to be repaired.

“This summer, we are cracking down on those who ride bikes, including off-road bikes to cause anti-social behaviour and blight our communities through their acts.

“We’re urging you to share information with us, and ‘Give us the bike, not the rider’. Understanding where those involved store, repair and refuel their bike will help us take action.”
