The Met Office has forecast a warm and dry weekend for York.

Saturday will start cool and dry, with temperatures around 11C at 6am, dipping to 8C by 11am.

The chance of rain remains below five per cent, and winds will be light at around 2mph.

In the afternoon, temperatures will rise significantly, reaching 24C by 6pm, and it will stay dry, with a less than five per cent chance of rain.

Winds will increase slightly to 8mph.

The evening will be warm, with temperatures continuing to rise, reaching around 27C by 9pm.

Winds will peak at 9mph, and the chance of rain will remain below five per cent.

After 10pm, temperatures will start to fall, heading through the low 20s and towards the mid-teens, and winds will gradually ease.

Sunday will start at around 12C at 6am, warming quickly to 22C by 11am.

There is a slightly greater possibility of a shower, with rain chances generally 10–20 per cent, although the forecast still favours dry conditions.

Winds will remain light at around 2–5mph.

In the afternoon, temperatures will level out at around 24C.

The chance of rain will fluctuate between 10 per cent and 20 per cent, so a brief shower can't be completely ruled out.

Winds will increase to around 6–9mph.

In the evening, temperatures will gradually decline from 23C at 6pm to 19C by 10pm.

The rain chance will settle at around 10 per cent, while winds will slowly ease from about 9mph to 6–8mph.

After 10pm, temperatures will fall to approximately 18C at 11pm.

Winds will remain fairly gentle at around 6mph, with only a 10 per cent chance of rain.
