Major road through North Yorkshire reopens in one direction

A MAIN road in North Yorkshire has reopened one way following a serious crash.

The A64 is now open eastbound at Barton Hill.

The westbound carriageway remains shut.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance are at the scene.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "We are currently dealing with a serious road traffic collision on the A64 at Barton Hill. The road is closed in both directions while emergency services respond to the incident.

"Please avoid the area and seek alternative routes where possible."
