Police were called to deal with a man acting aggressively on a York train last night (Thursday).
Officers from British Transport Police were called to the incident on York Station at 5.33pm.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers attended York railway station and a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a section 4b public order offence and possession of a class B drug.
“He was taken to police custody and has since been released while enquiries continue.”
The arrest was witnessed by a large number of passengers during yesterday’s rush hour.
A police car was parked between the taxi rank and the drop-off zone at the front of the station while the incident was dealt with.
It came during a day of major disruption on the rail network, following a power failure in the Greater Manchester area.
