York luxury hotel goes on the market after less than three years in business

A well-regarded luxury boutique hotel in York has gone on the market after less than three years of trading.

The New Holgate Hotel was created by York businessman Nick Bradley, who spent around £2million transforming the former Holgate Bridge B&B at 106-108 Holgate Road.

The property featured 12 well-appointed ensuite letting bedrooms, a restaurant and downstairs whisky bar.

The hotel officially opened in November 2023 and went on to receive good reviews online.

Tripadvisor awards the New Holgate Hotel 4.5 stars out of five, based on 158 reviews, ranking it 23 out of 53 York hotels.

Google awards 4.6 stars out of five, based on 110 reviews.

Lambert Smith Hampton of Leeds is selling the freehold of the site and business. The price is on application and offers are invited.

The sales particulars also noted the venue offers an “easily operated turnkey business opportunity.”
