Two lifelong women’s football fans from York are launching the world’s first travel company dedicated solely to women’s football supporters.
Football TravelHER officially launched this week – Monday 3 August – following the release of the new Women’s Super League fixtures, with a mission to make following women’s football easier and more accessible for fans.
The company is founded by Heather Raimes and Corinne Wray.
“As founders, we’ve spent years travelling across the UK and around the world supporting both club and country,” said Corinne.
“Between us, we’ve attended four UEFA Women’s EURO tournaments, including both finals that the Lionesses won, and travelled as far as Australia and New Zealand for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. We’re already planning our trip to Brazil for next year’s tournament.
“Our own experiences highlighted how difficult it can be for supporters to organise travel for women’s matches, particularly as fan interest in the game continues to grow. That’s what inspired us to create Football TravelHER.”
Football TravelHER plans entire matchday experiences – including match tickets, accommodation, transport and unique experiences linked to the host city and individual clubs.
Ahead of the launch, Heather and Corinne have already got more than 15 clubs onboard across the Women’s Super League, Scottish Women’s Premier League, Premiere League (France), Liga F (Spain, and all 3 top leagues in USA, Canada and Mexico.
“Although our business has a local and global outlook, we’re incredibly proud that it’s being built right here in York,” added Corinne. “We hope our story will inspire others to see that a passion project born in Yorkshire can grow into something with international reach.
“With women’s football continuing to grow at an incredible rate, we’d love the opportunity to share our journey as founders, our experiences following England around the world and why we believe women’s football tourism is the next big growth area in sport.”
