Crews have tackled two field fires overnight (Wednesday).
Selby and Tadcaster firefighters went to an incident off Sutton Lane, Byram at6.19pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “They confirmed a fire in field involving brash and small bushed measuring 100m by 5m.

“Crews used hose reels, knapsack sprayers and beaters.”
Then, at 6.20pm, Stokesley and Thirsk crews were mobilised to a bailer and stubble field fire at a farm in** Kirby Sigston**, near Northallerton.

The spokesperson said: “The crew confirmed a baler was well alight and approx 30 square metres of stubble affected by fire.
“Crews extinguished the fire using hose reels and breathing apparatus.”
