RAIL passengers are being advised of major disruption to services over the August Bank Holiday.
Engineering work is taking place at the end of the month on the East Coast Main Line as part of the £1.4bn East Coast Digital Programme.
This upgrade - which will see digital in-cab signalling introduced between Welwyn and Hitchin - will affect journeys south of Peterborough towards London, with rail replacement buses set to operate for some journeys.

Ricky Barsby, head of access integration (ECDP) at Network Rail, said: "The work taking place involves the final preparations for us to begin a gradual introduction of digital in-cab signalling on the East Coast Main Line.
The ability to control trains in this way will enable a more resilient and reliable railway that is fit for the future."
The planned works will run from 8pm on Saturday, August 29, until 8am on Monday, August 31, with significant disruption expected on Sunday, August 30.
To help keep passengers moving, two return LNER services from Newcastle to Bedford will be diverted to Bedford, where travellers can connect to Thameslink services into London St Pancras.
This diversion is expected to allow around 2,500 passengers to complete their journeys by train.
Passengers are being urged to check all parts of their journey in advance through National Rail Enquiries or individual train operators.
