An award-winning York scheme is helping young people explore filmmaking through hands-on learning and industry insight.
Filmmaking in Schools, delivered by Aesthetica in partnership with City of York Council, has expanded to a summer school taking place throughout August.
The programme is designed to help young people aged 11-16 from York and across the city develop creative, technical and employability skills.
Cherie Federico, director of Aesthetica, said: "Filmmaking in Schools demonstrates the transformative power of creative education.
"As a UNESCO City of Media Arts, York has a unique opportunity to inspire the next generation by connecting young people with professional creative practice and the skills that will shape the future workforce."
The programme covers every stage of the filmmaking process, from concept development to post-production.
Participants gain practical experience while learning about opportunities in film, television, digital media and the wider creative sector.
The scheme will culminate in a public premiere at the Yorkshire Museum on Sunday, November 8, where eight original films will be screened.
