Lightwater Valley has unveiled a traditional sweet shop as part of a series of improvements at the attraction.

The sweet shop adds to new rides and attractions at the theme park, situated between Ripon and Masham.

The upgrades and improvements follow the purchase of the attraction by the family-owned Mellors Group at the start of the year.

The company says the sweet shop is packed with barrels of classic pick’n’mix favourites and old school treats.

A post on social media said: “This nostalgic addition was brought to life by James William, helping transform his vision into one of the sweetest spots in the park.

“Named ‘Pat & Tracey’s Sweet Shop’, the charming new shop pays tribute to two much-loved dinner ladies who left a lasting impression on James during his school years at Nottingham High School.”

The Mellors Group has also announced a new food and drink outlet called Crazy Shakes.

The company added: “A nod to one of [company founder] James Mellors very first rides, the original Crazy Shake has been given a new lease of life as the home of delicious Bronut milkshakes and a variety of ice creams.

“Because no day at the park is complete without a sweet treat or two!”
