York hotel launches special VIP menu for furry canine guests

Dogs are getting the VIP treatment with a new menu just for them in York.

The Milner York has launched the dog-friendly dining experience in response to increasing demand from guests who want their pets included in the full hotel stay.

The playful canine menu features a Vanilla Woofing Cupcake, Doggie Jammie Dodger, Peanut Butter Cannoli, and Doggy Ice Cream with seasonal fruits.

Andy Barnsdale, general manager at The Milner York, said: "Travelling with dogs has become the norm for many of our guests, and expectations have evolved significantly in recent years.

"People want their pets to be part of every aspect of their stay, so we've enhanced our offering to ensure four-legged visitors enjoy the same warm welcome as their owners.

"Our new canine menu is a fun way to make dogs feel included while creating memories for the whole family."

Each canine guest also receives a complimentary Puppaccino with a crunchy biscuit, plus fresh filtered water served in a Milner dog bowl.

The menu is part of the hotel's wider dog-friendly offering, which includes pet-friendly rooms, welcome treats, dog beds, and curated recommendations for pet-friendly walks and attractions in York and the surrounding Yorkshire countryside.

The idea for the canine menu came after a noticeable rise in enquiries for pet-friendly rooms and enquiries from guests travelling with their dogs.

The team wanted to go beyond simply accommodating pets, creating a dog-specific version of one of The Milner’s most popular guest experiences.

Mr Barnsdale said that the introduction of the menu reflects changing travel habits and the growing desire for stays that include every member of the family — dogs included.

Other elements of the hotel’s dog-friendly offering include tailored suggestions for pet-friendly activities in York and the Yorkshire countryside, making it easier for guests to explore the area with their canine companions.

The Milner York describes itself as York’s ‘most loved’ hotel, and the canine menu is available for any dogs staying at the hotel.
