A towering T. Rex is set to roar into Selby this weekend for a day of prehistoric fun.
A free dinosaur-themed event will take place at Market Cross on Saturday, August 8, featuring walkabout appearances from Pete the T. Rex at 11am, 12pm and 1pm.
Younger visitors can also meet handheld baby dinosaurs at 11.30am, 12.30pm and 1.30pm.
Melissa Clement, who oversees management at Market Cross, said: "We’re really looking forward to welcoming Pete the T. Rex and the baby dinosaurs to Market Cross.
"This promises to be a fantastic event for families, and we hope lots of young dinosaur fans will join us for an exciting day of free entertainment at the centre."
Visitors can continue the prehistoric fun throughout the centre, with a themed window display at Elaine’s Cards & Gifts and dinosaur balloons available to purchase.
Dinosaur-themed books will also be on offer at The Works.
The event is designed to give children the chance to meet dinosaurs up close, take photos and enjoy a day of imaginative play and discovery.
It is free and open to all, with no booking required.
