A 13-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after being allegedly attacked by a man in his 40s in a residential York street.
North Yorkshire Police said the boy was “strangled, pushed and kicked” during the reported assault in Moss Street on Sunday (August 2).

The force said he was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries to his throat and neck after the incident near the street’s junction with Caesar Court at about 12pm.
A police spokesperson said the man is described as a “tanned-skinned man in his 40s, approximately 5ft 10in tall, of average build, with an outgrown buzz-cut hairstyle, dark stubble. He was wearing a red top and dark shorts at the time.”

Police said man has been arrested in connection with the incident and been released on bail.
