York’s Visitor Information Centre has moved into the Mayor's former shop in the city centre.
The new hub has moved from its former premises in Parliament Street to 28 Back Swinegate, which once home to David Skaith's Winston's menswear store.
Make It York, which manages the site, said they would be continuing to share their expert advice and knowledge of the city of York and its surroundings, seven days a week.
A spokesperson said: “The new Visitor Information Centre offers a more welcoming space in the heart of the city, where the friendly and knowledgeable team continue to provide their trusted service that has made it an essential first stop for exploring York and beyond.
“With improved facilities and more space to showcase the city’s attractions and experiences, the new premises provide an even better visitor experience. “
Visitors of the centre can pick up free maps, guides and brochures.
They can also purchase tickets for attractions, experiences and transport, and buy the Visit York Pass, in addition to locally made gifts and souvenirs.

The Mayor closed Winston's in late February after ten years of trading.
Speaking about this at the time, he said: "It’s been an incredibly difficult decision to make, but the space is no longer right and the business needs a lot of time and energy to take it to the next stage of its journey.
“To have stayed on Back Swinegate would have been an emotional decision, this is a business decision.
"Obviously, I’m quite busy at the moment giving my role as mayor my all, and that has to be my priority right now."
