Poppleton art exhibition celebrates 25 years with anniversary show

An art exhibition is marking a milestone anniversary with a celebration of creativity.

Art in the Barn, based in Poppleton, is hosting its 25th annual show at the Tithe Barn in Church Lane from August 29 to 31.

The event showcases work by 30 artists and includes a pop-up café and Tudor garden.

Stephanie Wood, chair of Art in the Barn, said: "We are delighted to have reached this special milestone.

"For a quarter of a century our annual art exhibition has brought local artists and art lovers together within the unique setting of the 16th-century Tithe Barn in Poppleton.

"The group’s continuing success is a direct result of our members' creativity, hard work, and enthusiasm to create memorable exhibitions that have kept visitors coming back every year.

"Come and join us in celebrating our special 25th Anniversary Exhibition and enjoy a lovely day out with family and friends."

The exhibition features watercolours, acrylics, pastels, linocut prints, sculpture, and handmade cards.

Entry and parking are free.

A ticket-only preview evening will take place on August 28 from 7pm to 9pm and will be opened by award-winning York artist Patrick Smith.

The group formed after a one-off exhibition was held to promote the use of the barn following its restoration.
