TWO men have allegedly attacked police officers in an East Yorkshire coastal town.
It happened on Saturday, August 1, whilst officers were patrolling the seafront as part of Operation Coastline.
A force spokesperson said officers spotted a man who was wanted for more than one previous offence and whilst he was being detained, an officer was assaulted.
Whilst this was happening, another member of the public, completely unconnected to the original incident, allegedly assaulted the other police officer, the force said.
The second man allegedly ran off through the crowds and was tracked by the town closed-circuit television.
A Humberside Police spokesperson said: "Other officers responded to the location and soon found the suspect hiding under a parked vehicle where he was promptly arrested.
"Both males were taken into custody to be processed."
Humberside Police’s Operation Coastline is a seasonal initiative that increases high-visibility patrols in coastal and market towns to deter crime and antisocial behaviour and reassure residents and visitors during busy holiday periods.
