A woman who harassed a man and a man on a racial charge were among defendants sentenced recently at Scarborough Magistrates Court.
Mitchell Johnson, 31, of Clark Street, Scarborough, pleaded guilty to racial abuse of a police officer.
He was given a 17-week prison sentence suspended for 18 months on condition he does six months’ alcohol rehabilitative treatment and 25 days’ rehabilitative activities and ordered to pay £250 compensation.
Catalin Baran, 24, of Marlborough Street, Scarborough, pleaded guilty to theft of £40 of alcohol, washing products worth £64.20 and alcohol to an unknown value, all from Tesco in Scarborough.
He was jailed for 12 weeks and ordered to pay £236.95 compensation.
Annalise Till, 32, of Wooler Street, Scarborough, pleaded guilty to harassing a man.
She was given a 12-month community order with six months’ mental health treatment and 10 days’ rehabilitative activities.
Owen Shevells, 21, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to criminal damage to a police vehicle and possessing pregabalin. He was jailed for two weeks.
Nathan Drummond, 38, of Briercliffe, Scarborough, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police emergency worker.
He was jailed for 24 weeks and ordered to pay £200 compensation.
Serina Hall, 48, of St Marys Crescent, Whitby, pleaded guilty to cocaine driving, driving with a cannabis derivative in her body and driving without insurance, all committed at the same time in Whitby.
She was given a 12-month community order with 20 days’ rehabilitative activities and banned from driving for 29 months. She was also ordered to pay a £40 fine, £85 prosecution costs and a £114 statutory surcharge.
Zach Chapman, 33, of Aberdeen Walk, Scarborough, pleaded guilty to cannabis driving and was banned from driving for 40 months.
He was ordered to pay a £120 fine and £85 prosecution costs.
Daniel Boyle, of Chantry Road, East Ayton, pleaded guilty to unlawfully and maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm on a man in Scarborough on January 3, 2026.
He was given a 12-month community order. He must also pay £1,000 in compensation to the victim and a £114 surcharge.
