Police have recovered a motorbike soon after it was stolen last night (Sunday).
The red 125cc motorbike was taken from the Heslington area.
North Yorkshire Police posted on Facebook: “Officers turned the area into the world’s least enjoyable game of hide-and-seek, following numerous sightings before finally been tracked down by York North Neighbourhood Policing Team.
“The motorbike has been reunited with its rightful owner, who is delighted.
“As for the thief… safe to say their joyride has hit a speed bump.”
Police say that it took 90 minutes between receiving the report of the theft to locating the bike.
