Officers from the Craven Neighbourhood Policing Team, PC 1117 McManus and Sgt 881 Tariq, were carrying out enquiries today in Skipton to locate individuals wanted by North Yorkshire Police.
They discovered the location of a man in his 50s who was wanted for failing to attend court in relation to various offences.
When officers arrived at the address, the wanted man appeared to believe he could avoid arrest by hiding inside a wardrobe.
A Craven Police Spokesperson said: “Unfortunately for him, this wardrobe wasn’t a one-way trip to Narnia… it was a direct route to York Magistrates’ Court.”
They thanked members of the public who assisted them with information.
