Popular York restaurant reveals its new city centre location

A popular burger restaurant in York has revealed its new city centre location.

Sloppy’s Bar and Kitchen closed the Woodthorpe venue where it has traded successfully last month.

It was to prepare for a move to the heart of the city.

Now it has revealed where it’s going – onto Castlegate, into the former home of the Clucking Oinks chicken shop.

Clucking Oinks closed in May, when they decided to “diversify into a different direction”

Co-founded by partners Molly McGrath and Leon Sledmore, Sloppy’s first started as a kiosk in York city centre in 2018 as ‘Sloppy’s Burgers’ and ‘Nine Bar’.

So it’s a return, this time with a bricks-and-mortar venue.

Molly and Leon say their move was hit by “a few delays that have been out of our control” but now it’s full steam ahead.

Sloppy’s on Castlegate will open later this month.
