A man is in a critical condition in hospital after a crash in York.
A white Fiat 500 car and a Yamaha motorbike collided on Barbican Road, outside the Victoria pub, at 12.40pm on Saturday (1 August).
The rider of the motorbike was taken to hospital by ambulance. He remains in a critical condition.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was also called to the incident, landing next to the StayCity Aparthotel.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The driver of the car is assisting our investigation.
“The road was closed until just after 10pm while we examined the scene and to allow the vehicles involved to be safely recovered.
“We’re appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the vehicles prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact us.”
