FIRE crews were called out to a deliberate fire in York this lunchtime.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said its crew from York responded to reports of a grassland fire close to Haxby Road in York at 12.21pm today (August 3).

“Crews dampened down the area using a knapsack sprayer. The Police were informed due to the believed cause of the fire being deliberate,” said a spokesperson for the service.
