Good news for geeks everywhere! There’s a double dose of comic conventions in York this August.
There’s not one, but two, Comic Cons heading to York city centre this summer – so get your finest cosplay at the ready.
First up, is the York Creed Comic-Con on Sunday 16 August at the York Railway Institute – set to be a great day for families, sci-fi collectors, fans, and every other kind of Comic Con Fan.
The event will include displays, props, traders, and meet and greets with stars of TV and film. There will also be cosplay competitions to get involved in.
Special guests for York Creed Comic-Con include Gavin and Stacey star Matthew Horne and children’s TV icon Paul Chuckle.
Tickets start from £5 and are available via Eventbrite.
Then, annual event York Unleashed Comic Con is back onSunday 30 August at York Racecourse.
Media guests for York Unleashed 2026 include TV and video game actors including Jamie Kenna and Harry McEntire, and soap star Alan Fletcher, best known as the legendary Dr Karl Kennedy from Neighbours.
Con attendees can also expect stage talks, cosplay masquerade, a huge market selling merchandise and collectables from all your favourite franchises – and much more.
Advance tickets for York Comic Con are available for £12 per adult and £6 for under 16’s – advance tickets allow you into the event from 10am and can be purchased online.
General entry is from 11am, and tickets can be purchased on the door (cash only) for the discounted price of £10 per adult and £5 for under 16’s.
