Deliberate fire in the heart of North York Moors National Park

A crew from Scarborough attended a deliberate fire that had been started in woodland in Harwood Dale. It is at the heart of North York Moors National Park.

At 17.30 yesterday evening (1st August), they used knapsack sprayers, buckets of water and beaters to extinguish the fire.

Details of those responsible for starting the fire were passed to the police.
