A COMBINE harvester has been destroyed by fire in a North Yorkshire village.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service says its crews from Scarborough and Filey were called to Barmoor Lane in Scalby just before 11am today (August 1) after reports of a combine harvester on fire.

- Air ambulance called to 'crash' close to York city centre - roads closed“ The combine was 100% damage by the fire, and it had spread to 10m by 10m of stubble in a standing crop field.
"Crews used 2 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, a thermal imaging camera, beaters, small tools, cutters and spreaders, to deal with the incident,” said a spokesperson for the service.
