THE air ambulance and other emergency services are currently attending an incident just outside of York city centre.
Reports are coming in of an incident - believed to be a crash - that has taken place and blocked off a busy road through York this afternoon (August 1) at around 1pm.

Whilst it is currently unconfirmed, the crash is believed to involve a motorcyclist and at least one car - with two vehicles parked inside the cordon in Barbican Road at the junction with Kent Street and Heslington Road.

An eyewitness reported seeing police and ambulance vehicles close to the Barbican, with the air ambulance seen to be flying low overhead before it landed close to the StayCity Aparthotel.
Several roads in the area are currently to closed cars from Fawcett Street to Barbican Road, however Kent Street is open to pedestrians until the Q Park.

The Air Ambulance left the scene at around 1.50pm.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
