THE Met Office has forecast a sunny weekend for York, with temperatures reaching 24°C.

Saturday morning will start at 13°C, dropping to 10°C by late morning.

Clouds will clear for sunny intervals, with a low chance of rain, and a light northwesterly breeze will be present.

By the afternoon, temperatures will rise to 20°C, with mostly sunny skies and occasional clouds.

The chance of rain will peak at 30 per cent around 5pm.

Winds will increase slightly, but conditions will remain comfortable, while UV levels are expected to be high, so sunscreen is advisable.

The evening will remain warm, with temperatures around 21°C, cooling to 12°C by late evening.
