Free bus travel for children could help families enjoy more affordable days out during the summer holidays.
The offer, available throughout August for children under 16, also comes with a £1 entry offer to Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal for under-18s who travel by bus, and savings for teenagers in York and North Yorkshire.
The deal includes most bus routes in the region with operators such as First Bus, Go-Ahead and Transdev, and covers weekend services like the DalesBus and Moorsbus.
David Skaith, Mayor of York and North Yorkshire, said: "There is no better place for a Great British Summer of Savings than York and North Yorkshire.
"There’s something for the whole family, from our historic cities to our beautiful beaches, the summer holidays are when families and friends can come together and create lasting memories."
Young people aged under 19 can continue to travel for £1 per journey as part of an existing regional scheme.
The free and discounted travel coincides with a £1 entry offer to Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal for under-18s who travel by bus.
Bus services 82, 83 and 84 have been extended from Ripon to Fountains Abbey, while the Direct DalesBus 822 services will run from Pocklington, York and Ripon every Sunday.
