POLICE have arrested a second man after eight cattle were allegedly stolen from a North Yorkshire village.
Officers from North Yorkshire Police said that they has arrested a 70-year-old man, who remains in police custody, on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary with intent to steal.
It comes after a man in his 30s was arrested on Wednesday (July 29).
He has since been bailed with conditions, including restrictions on entering North Yorkshire.
The theft is said to have taken place in the Ripley area on Sunday (July 26).
A police spokesperson said: “We're pleased to report that all the cattle are fit and well. Five have now been returned to their owners, with three still undergoing identification checks.
The owners are extremely grateful to have them back.”
Enquiries are ongoing.
