Concerts in York will help raise funds for bereaved families through a partnership with Steve Coates Music Productions.

Fundraising will take place at two upcoming shows in support of maternity bereavement care across York and Scarborough.

Donations will be collected for the Tiny Lives campaign and ongoing maternity bereavement support during One Night of Classic Rock at Tadcaster’s Riley Smith Hall on Saturday, August 15, and One Night of Country at York’s Joseph Rowntree Theatre on Saturday, September 19.

Steve Coates, producer at Steve Coates Music Productions, said: "These are great causes and the cast of both shows are working hard to bring the very best sound and performance to both shows.

"Having the added bonus of being able to support these causes whilst entertaining the local crowds is just amazing."

The fundraising is deeply personal for one of the performers, Chris Hagyard, who has experienced the loss of two pregnancies with his wife, Treudi.

Mr Hagyard said: "There’s no way we’ll be able to say thank you to them enough, but being part of these shows and having the team there collecting and fundraising to further support grieving parents and families is a real honour."

Becky White, community fundraiser for the York & Scarborough Hospitals charity, added: "These are great causes and the cast of both shows are working hard to bring the very best sound and performance to both shows."

Tickets for One Night of Country can be purchased via the Joseph Rowntree Theatre box office online or by calling 01904 501935.
