AA Campsite of the Year North East EnglandLocation: Alders Caravan Park, Alne
Review: “The park is set on a working farm and offers spacious, level touring pitches and camping pods in a peaceful setting. The local cricket club is based on the farm and visitors are welcome to use the bar facilities and watch the match on weekends.”
The inspectors’ favourite features are the regular cricket matches on site, Whitley’s Cafe that serves homemade cakes, and the farm itself where you can spot cattle, chickens and sheep.
AA Campsite of the Year England and overall winnerLocation: St Helens in the Park, Wykeham
Review: “This 36-acre site on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, its beautiful landscaped grounds featuring an abundance of colourful, seasonal flowers. The park is thoughtfully laid out over terraces, with tree screening creating smaller, more intimate areas, including a designated adults-only zone.
“There are also several well-equipped camping pods, all with electricity. Additionally, a fully furnished, luxurious lodge offers a premium self-catering option. A cycle route leads to the surrounding Wykeham Estate and there's a short pathway to sister property, the Downe Arms Hotel. Amenities include a licensed, dog-friendly café with a garden, and a well-stocked licensed shop offering everyday essentials and pocket-money treats.”
The inspectors’ favourite features are an aqua park located nearby, the coffee shop and a children’s play park and adults-only caravanning area.
