York attraction wins four awards just 18 months after opening

A visitor attraction in York has collected four major awards just 18 months after opening.
The family-owned Puzzling World of Professor Kettlestring has earned recognition for excellence in visitor experience, innovation and customer satisfaction since launching on January 10, 2025.
Matthew Tritton-Hughes, founder of the attraction, said: "We're absolutely delighted and incredibly grateful.
"To receive four major awards in just our second year is far beyond anything we expected.

Its latest accolade is the Emerging Tourism Business of the Year 2026, awarded at the SME UK Enterprise Awards.
This adds to its growing list of honours, which includes New Tourism Business of the Year at the Visit York Tourism Awards, Best Tourist Attraction at the YorkWorks Business Awards, and Tripadvisor's Travellers' Choice Award 2026.
The attraction, located in the heart of York at 14 Merchantgate, features immersive illusion rooms, interactive exhibits, and hands-on puzzles.

It has become a favourite with families, couples, and groups looking for a fun and unusual day out.
