The store, located at Unit 4, Foss Islands Retail Park, York, has also submitted plans to change the store layout to accommodate self-service checkouts.
This application was originally submitted to City of York Council on July 21, 2026.
The retailer has also requested the removal of its current premises licence conditions to be replaced with updated ones.

The application can be viewed at the City of York Council Licensing Section, Hazel Court EcoDepot, James Street, York, from 8.30am-5pm Monday to Friday, by prior arrangement.
Residents or any responsible authority can submit their views on the application in writing to the City of York Council Licensing Services, Hazel Court EcoDepot, James Street, York, YO10 3DS.
Emails can also be sent to licensing@york.gov.uk, with a deadline for all representations of August 18, 2026.
Information on the grounds for making a representation can be found on the City of York Council website.
Any false statement made in connection with a licence application is considered an offence and carries an unlimited fine.
