The York River Art Market is a much-loved part of the city’s summer – and it’s back for 2026.
An array of artists will be showcasing their creative wares all along the riverside railings on Dame Judi Dench Walk, where visitors can browse and purchase from independent artists and creators.

Each day there will be more than 30 artists, with paintings, prints, jewellery, textiles, glass work, ceramics, and more to peruse. The art market also aims to cater for all budgets too, and is free to attend.
All the markets will take place from 10am to 5:30pm.
A launch event for the market will take place today, Thursday 30 July at Spark York, hosted by York River Art Marker director, Caroline Turner. The launch party will take place from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
The mini-exhibition preview event at Spark will feature some of the local makers that will be showcasing their work at the market – and will give visitors the opportunity to explore unique handcrafted pieces, ranging from antique spoon jewellery to upcycled fashion and bespoke ceramics.
Featured creators include visual artist Drew Naylor, fine artist Caitlin Cunningham, handcrafted ceramics from Losange Pottery, contemporary painting from Alex Ash Art and much more.
York River Market 2026 will once again be supporting York Rescue Boat.
