Nidderdale Museum in 'exalted company' for new digital guide by Bloomberg Connect
Nidderdale Museum says it is “thrilled” to be in the first 1% of museums worldwide to have been selected to use a new digital platform powered by Bloomberg Connect.
Located at The Old Workhouse, King Street in Pateley Bridge, the entirely volunteer-run museum is in exalted company, joining the ranks of major global institutions such as New York’s MoMA (The Museum of Modern Art), the Design Museum, Hayward Gallery, and the Imperial War Museums.
Working in partnership with Bloomberg Connects, Nidderdale Museum has created a high-spec digital guide.
This new experience will offer visitors a richer, more immersive exploration of the museum's fascinating local history exhibits and is completely free.

The new Nidderdale Museum digital guide features:
Audio Stories: A curated tour of highlights from the collection.
Dotty’s Treasure Hunt: A fun, interactive activity for children.
Best-in-Class Accessibility: Built-in features include screen-reader support and more.
Ad-free and 100% free: Completely free to use with no hidden costs or advertising.
A Gateway to Global Culture: Once downloaded, Bloomberg Connects grants users digital access to expert guides to more than 1,500 museums, galleries, sculpture parks and more.
Run by volunteers, Nidderdale Museum is open from 1.30pm to 4.30pm,Tuesday to Sunday, plus bank holiday Mondays.
It has 13 themed exhibition spaces and a collection of 30,000 objects.
The museum receives no core funding and and relies entirely on its visitors and enthusiastic volunteers.
Nidderdale Museum’s new digital experience is part of Bloomberg Philanthropies’ longstanding commitment to supporting digital innovation in the arts.
Accessed via a standard mobile web browser or the dedicated Bloomberg Connects app, visitors can access it instantly by scanning QR codes located throughout the museum, using the free guest Wi-Fi, or by downloading Bloomberg Connects from the App Store or Google Play.
