• A man has been arrested after a shot was reportedly fired outside York Mosque.
• The mosque is closed with a police cordon in place this morning (July 30).
• No one was injured after the alleged weapon, an air rifle, was reportedly fired at around 2.20am, North Yorkshire Police says.
• Police say there will be extra patrols at the mosque with officers due to meet the imam about the alleged incident.
• The president of York Mosque says a member of the mosque contacted police after they “noticed suspicious activity and heard what appeared to be a shooting”.
• Police say a 44-year-old York man, described as a white UK national, was arrested following the alleged incident and remains in custody.
