Firefighters worked alongside farmers to contain a crop fire in Yorkshire on Tuesday.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said they were called about the fire - which involved standing crops in a field off Bridlington Road - at 4:19pm.

Farmers helped firefighters to contain a crop fire in Hunmanby on Tuesday 28 July.

Firefighters worked alongside local farmers using water bowsers to contain the fire - which covered approximately 20 acres - and prevent it from spreading further.

The service said crews remained at the scene into the evening damping down hotspots.
