TV star takes on series of challenges at North Yorkshire water park

A TV star has taken on his next challenge at a North Yorkshire water park ahead of the summer holidays.
Gladiators champion Joe Fishburn has visited North Yorkshire Water Park, where he took on a series of challenging activities to help the park kick off its summer programme of outdoor fun.
As reported by The Press in March, the water park - which is located in Wykeham, near Scarborough - after the site was upgraded with brand new attractions.

The Scarborough-born winner of the BBC’s Gladiators 2025 proved himself on the park’s Ultimate Aqua Park - taking on a giant inflatable obstacle course featuring climbing walls, slides, and balance beams.
James Whitehead, operations manager at North Yorkshire Water Park, said: "It was fantastic to welcome Joe Fishburn to North Yorkshire Water Park to help us celebrate the start of the summer holidays.
"Watching a Gladiators champion take on our Aqua Park and adventure activities was a brilliant way to showcase everything we have to offer, and we’re now passing the challenge to the public.
"Whether you're looking to challenge yourself, spend time with family and friends, or simply enjoy the great outdoors, there's an activity here for everyone.

The Gladiator’s visit highlighted the park’s summer offering, which includes a mix of water and land-based activities.
The action also continued on dry land as he tested his skills with archery, took on axe throwing and conquered the climbing wall, experiencing first-hand the range of activities available this summer.
As one of Yorkshire’s leading adventure destinations, North Yorkshire Water Park offers paddleboarding, kayaking, open water swimming, ziplining, archery, axe throwing, and climbing.
The park has introduced several new evening events for the summer including open water swimming on Wednesdays from 5.30pm to 7pm for £5 per person (in addition to existing weekend sessions).

Tuesday evenings offer a Duo Pass for the Aqua Park, allowing two people to take on the inflatable course for £25, including wetsuits and the Thursday night SUP Club runs from 6pm to 7.30pm for £10 per person, giving paddleboarders the chance to improve their technique with support from an instructor.
Flying boarding sessions are also available at £90 per person, with one-hour experiences running on select dates in August and September.
The park is open throughout the school holidays, encouraging families and groups to make the most of the longer days and outdoor activities.
