Crash closes major road in North Yorkshire

A TWO-vehicle crash has closed a main road in North Yorkshire (Wednesday, July 29).

The county's police force said early this morning that the A170 was closed both ways in Wrelton Cliff Road between Pickering and Wrelton.

The road is a principal route from the A1 and the A19 to the North Yorkshire coast.

AA Traffic News is reporting that the closed road includes the junction for Cropton Lane.

Motorists are being advised to find alternate routes.

The road is expected to be closed for some time, police said.
