An optician in Pocklington is hosting a day of family fun this weekend.
Specsavers Pocklington in Market Place will host the event on August 1, and will include games, prizes, and face painting from 10am to 3pm.
The event aims to create a welcoming and relaxed environment during the summer holidays while raising awareness of the importance of children’s eye care.
Amy Sheldon, director at Specsavers Pocklington, said: "Everyone in the store is excited to welcome families from across Pocklington this Saturday.
"With it being the start of the school holidays, we wanted to host an event to celebrate the end of the term.
"Last year’s event was popular with parents, as we had informative conversations about the importance of regular eye tests and what to look out for, helping families feel confident ahead of the new school year.
"We hope we can help make things a little easier for Pocklington parents and look forward to seeing some familiar and new faces on the day."
Parents will have the opportunity to speak with staff about eye tests and signs that a child’s vision may need checking as children prepare for the new school year.
